Honest answer: truly free and unlimited mostly doesn't exist anymore (Google Photos ended it in 2021). The closest options:

• Telegram: unlimited free storage. Send photos and videos to your own “Saved Messages” chat as files, which keeps them full quality. Works on phone, computer and web. Each file is capped at 2 GB.

• Terabox: 1 TB free, with ads, and it auto-backs up your phone. Lots of space, but I wouldn't keep anything private or irreplaceable there.

• Amazon Photos: unlimited full-quality photos (videos only 5 GB) if you already pay for Prime.

My pick: Telegram for the unlimited part, plus Google Photos' free 15 GB for easy browsing.

Yes, you can still upload to Google Photos. Since June 2021, though, everything you add counts toward the free 15 GB, even in the smaller “Storage saver” quality.

The only ways to get more:

• Photos uploaded before June 2021 stay free and don't count.

• Old Google Pixel phones (Pixel 1 to 5) still get free unlimited backup from that phone.

• Otherwise it's paid: 100 GB for about $2 a month.

If you want free and unlimited, Telegram is still the way to go.

No, sadly. Google counts by the day you upload, not the date on the photo, so changing dates or other tricks don't work. Anything uploaded now uses the 15 GB.

The only real loophole is an old Pixel phone (Pixel 2 to 5, often around $50 used). Photos backed up from that phone still upload free and unlimited, then show up on all your devices.

Not officially. Google's own list of phones with Gboard Writing tools is Pixel 9, 9 Pro, 9 Pro XL and the Pixel 10 series. The 9a isn't on it.

The phone in your screenshot is rooted, which is a hack I wouldn't do on your main phone.

Same thing on your 9a without hacks:

• Grammarly Keyboard (free): fixes grammar and rewrites tone

• Microsoft SwiftKey: has a built-in rewrite and tone button

Only by rooting the phone, and I don't recommend it:

• It wipes everything on the phone

• Google Wallet and many banking apps stop working

• Per the chat in your screenshot, the trick only worked up to Gboard 17.1, so it may not work on newer versions anyway

Yes, that's most likely from my sign-ins for the photos work. They came from a computer in another place, so Google flagged them and turned that sign-in off. I'm no longer signed in and the password is deleted on my side.

To clear it, on your phone:

1) Tap Check activity. If it shows Linux/Chrome or a far-away location around Oct 25, that was me, so tap "Yes, it was me"

2) Security → Your devices: sign out any Linux device

3) Change the password to be safe

4) Finish the Security Checkup

Nothing was deleted or changed in your account.

Free Gmail has no phone support. But if 8459966 pays for Google One storage (with 170k photos it probably does), you get real Google support by chat or call:
